Tuition
At Rio International School, we are committed to an accessible education for all students.
As an independent school, we do not receive assistance from any church group or other organization.
Entrance Fee
Each application from Kindergarten to 12° grade will be accompanied with a non-refundable application fee.
This fee goes towards processing student applications and preparing materials for each student.
Annual Tuition Costs
Tuition is due on or prior to the 5th day of each month and is billed for 12 months, from July through June of each school year.
What is included in the tuition fee:
Early Childhood = Teaching Material, Socioemotional Learning, School Counselor.
Elementary School = M.A.P test, ELD – English Language Development, Socioemotional Learning, School Counselor.
Middle School = M.A.P test, ELD – English Language Development, PSAT/NMSQT® for 8th grade, Study Hall (45 additional minutes that students can use this time to reinforce subjects, individual or group projects), School Counselor.
High School = AP Program Classes – Advanced Placement (11th and 12th grades), ELD – English Language Development until 9th grade, M.A.P test, Career Orientation for 9th grade, Career Pathway for 10th, 11th and 12th, College and Career for 11th grade and to support in applying to international colleges, for 12° grade, PSAT/NMSQT®, School Counselor.
What is not included in the tuition fee:
Uniforms; electronics – students from 3° through 12° grades are required to bring either a laptop (preferred) or a tablet to school each day for academic use; AP – Advanced Placement tests; SAT, ACT, TOEFL, Cambridge or other College admissions exams, food daily plan; after school activities; transportation; fundraising activities; repair or replacement of damaged, lost or stolen books or technology; external education programs; camps and travel, besides some materials required on the Supply List.

Academic International Material
Purchase of the Academic International Material due for each student in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Non- refundable, it is to be paid after school contract renewal (July) that covers textbooks and digital learning platforms (with the exception of the Portuguese book).
Discounted Tuition
Multiple Child Discount Tuition
Families with more than one student attending the school have 7,5% discount for each additional child. Sibling discounts do not apply to other fees.
School fees for enrolments Preschool-12 paid in full for the following semester are eligible for a 2,5% discount.
